HISTORIC LANDMARK
The fibreglass trout sculpture was constructed in 1973 by Adaminaby artist Andy Lomnici . Standing at 10 metres tall, it was one of the early “big things” iconic sculptures that celebrate regional areas of Australia. It has been refurbished several times, and has proudly greeted visitors to the ski fields and trout fishing lakes of the Snowy Mountains in NSW.
ABOUT THIS PRINT
Growing up in the Snowy Mountains, I first saw the Adaminaby Trout as a child in the mid 1970s as we drove past one night on our way home to Cooma. The trout appeared more silver in its original form, and to my child eyes, it appeared huge and glowing in the few street lights surrounding the park.
