HISTORIC LANDMARK
Capture the charm of the iconic Tathra Hotel, perched on its headland overlooking the Sapphire Coast of NSW. It has a rich and varied history dating back to 1888. Since ongoing renovations began in 2015, the Hotel has been a hub for the local community and visitors alike, boasting a live music program, restaurant and its own Humpback Brewery.
CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE
The Tathra Hotel is on Yuin Country with the Djiringanj people as custodians. The Tathra headland is known for ancient shell middens, and long-term, traditional use of the area for food and resources.
ABOUT THIS PRINT
Inspired by the beautiful vistas found throughout Tathra, I created this artwork by digital hand-drawing using vector software, meticulously working on details such as the ironwork balustrade, and shadows over the weatherboards. Using my reference photo, taken in the late afternoon as the western sun illuminated the facade of the building, giving it a golden glow.
