HISTORIC LANDMARK
Tathra Wharf is the only remaining timber deep-water wharf on the East Coast of Australia. First built in 1862 as a simple jetty, it has weathered many storms and high seas and undergone extensive restoration and stability works. The Wharf is a Heritage listed structure.
CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE
The Tathra Wharf is on Yuin Country with the Djiringanj people as custodians. The Tathra headland is known for ancient shell middens, and long-term, traditional use of the area for food and resources.
ABOUT THIS PRINT
Inspired by the beautiful vistas found throughout Tathra, I created this artwork by digital hand-drawing using vector software, meticulously working on details such as the railings and timber framework.
